Rambox gives you the possibility of bringing several chat and mail services in one place. It supports numerous services and it lets you connect to them on the fly. You can chat with your friends and exchange emails, with different desktop or web applications, from a single user interface.

The software is free and open source. You can have it up and running in no time, on any modern Windows platform. Its hardware requirements are modest and there is no need to install any prerequisite tools or services.

All the services you can connect to are displayed on the left side of a clean and simple user interface. They are displayed together with their icons, which makes it easy to spot a specific service. All you have to do is click one of these icons. Once you select a service, the software will display a small options window, on which you can make a few fine tweaks.

Connected services can be accessed on separate tabs. You will find the exact same user interfaces of your preferred mail or chat clients. You can choose to align the tabs differently, mute a service's sounds, display unread messages counters and more. With certain services, you may need to make some other specifications. For example, you will need to specify your URL if you connect to HipChat.

Connected services are listed on the right half of the interface, where you can hide and unhide them or remove them entirely. You can also bring up the settings panel for each individual service, if you wish to re-tweak something.

Regardless of what email or chat application you use or how many, you can have them all in a single place, thanks to Rambox.

Pros

The software supports countless services. You can connect to your preferred chat or mail application almost instantly. The software is lightweight, it works fast and it is easy to use.

Cons

Some of the supported services are dead and buried.
